TASHIBA-40 (Ex. PANDA-40/BABA-40)EQUIPMENT, SPECIFICATIONS AND DESIGN FEATURESHULL: Hand-laminated 24 oz. woven roving alternated with 1.5 oz. mat producing a laminate .410" thick at the rail, .572 thick at the waterline and .896 at the side of the keel per designer specifications. Keel thickness represents 22 layers of mat roving. Hull insulation is available as standard. Teak cap rail. DECK: Single-unit, hand-laminated 24 oz. woven roving alternated with 1.5 oz. mat to designer specifications. CONTOURKORE balsa wood is used in the deck and house as core material for stiffening, insulation and weight saving properties. Molded-in nonskid surface on the house top. Teak decks are standard, bedded in Thiokol or equal. BALLAST: Internal sealed, 10,000 pounds cast iron in one piece to minimum tolerances and glassed over to reinforced hull sections. MAST & BOOM: FORESPAR one-piece aluminum extension or equal, painted to customer requirements. Mast has internal mainsail track and tapered airfoil section aluminum spreaders. Internal tubing for future- wiring. Boom has internal outhaul and jiffy reefing. Spreader lights. Stainless steel traveler support base. STANDING RIGGING: Stainless steel 1 X 19- construction with swaged terminals. THROUGH HULLS: Bronze thru-hulls with bronze lever-action seacocks. All thru-hull fittings are bonded to the ships bonding system. DECK HARDWARE: Double stainless steel bow and stern pulpits and double vinyl-coated lifelines with large opening gates port and starboard. Teak wood roller bearing blocks for the running rigging. Roller bearing main sheet traveler. NICO-FICO or equal genoa and staysail track. All deck hardware is thru-bolted with stainless steel backing plates. Six hawse fairleads. Laminated bowsprit with a teak grate and bronze double anchor rollers. Teak grate in cockpit. Teak sea hatch that companionway slides into. Three deck prisms. Stainless steel pedestal guard. Stainless steel support frame under bowsprit platform. PORTS AND HATCHES: 15 bronze opening ports with bronze or stainless steel finishing rings on the outside. Large teak wood double opening butterfly hatch over the main cabin. Large opening hatch on the forward end of the housetop. Teak companionway hatch with frosted acrylic insert for extra light below. Four teak wood dorade boxes with stainless steel cowl vents. Stainless steel mushroom vent over the shower area. PROPANE STORAGE: Large molded-in fiberglass storage area in the cockpit which is capable of holding two five-gallon propane tanks. The storage area is vented to the outside of the hull, above the waterline. STEERING SYSTEM: Bronze steering pedestal with stainless steel support post. 32" teak steering wheel with stainless steel rim. Engine controls and steering brake are mounted on the pedestal. Chain/wire cable steering to quadrant. Adjustable sheave assembly with built-in end stops. Emergency steering tiller. Inside steering station with engine controls on Pilot House model. WINCHES: Nine LEWMAR chrome plated bronze winches. Two locking handles and one non-locking handle.
ENGINE: VOLVO-MD30 60hp, or YANMAR 4JH-TE 55hp, four cylinder diesel engine, fresh-water cooled. Instrument panel with engine alarm system. MORSE engine throttle and shift control cables. Manual engine stop control. Separate fuel filter-separator installed in the fuel line to the engine. Engine mounted on rubber mounts with flexible stuffing box. Water-cooled exhaust "aqua-lift" type muffler installed in the engine exhaust line. Foam/lead lined engine compartment. GROCO or VOLVO salt water strainer. SAILS: NEIL PYRDE working sails consisting of a main sail with two rows of reef points, staysail, working jib plus mizzen sail with one row of reef points on the ketch version. The staysail is club-footed on the Pilot House version. Sail cover and ready bags to customer's choice of color. TANKAGE: Two stainless steel fresh water tanks with a total storage capacity of about 150 gallons total (85 gallons-port tank/65 gallons starboard tank). The Pilot House version has 200 gallons total of water. One black-iron fuel tank with 100 gallons storage capacity (extra tankage is available). The Pilot House version has a total fuel capacity of 125 gallons. All tanks have baffles, access plates and are electrically bonded to the ship's bonding system. One fiberglass holding tank is standard with the yacht. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Two heavy-duty 105 amp-hour batteries located in fiberglass cases with lids. Four-position GUEST master battery switch. BASS Nova electrical panel for both l2-volt DC and l20volt AC systems; four meters, battery condition meter, reverse-polarity test switch, circuit breakers on all circuits plus provision for additional breakers. Seven overhead dome lights, seven BASS sealed beam high intensity bulkhead lights and five fluorescent lights. AQUA-SIGNAL running lights to International Rule. Red night lights at floor level. 120-volt AC shore power connector and AC outlets throughout the yacht. PLUMBING SYSTEM: PAR pressure water pump with an accumulator tank. Hot and cold pressure water at the galley area, head area and shower. Marine toilet with holding tank, valved to go either directly overboard or into the holding tank. Deep double stainless steel sinks in the galley. l20-volt AC hot water heater plus heat exchanger for hot water from the engine cooling system. Manual bilge pump and 12-volt DC PAR bilge pump. PAR shower sump pump with filter. MOEN --single lever faucets. INTERIOR: Teak and light wood cabin sole with built-in removable dustbin. Galley counters can either be covered with wood or Formica. Light colored marble counter in the head. Solid teak staving on all bulkheads (teak veneer or Formica bulkheads also available). Cloth covered 4" contoured foam cushions on all settee and berth areas. Teak trim throughout the boat. Satin varnished interior. Laminated beams with all overhead panels removable for access to the underside of the house top. Camphor wood in all hanging lockers (except wet locker which drains to the bilge). Built-in heater space. Choice of either spruce wood or teak wood slats against the side of the berth areas. Teak lockers at the forward end of the berth area. Laminated door/locker frames. Front opening door on the ice chest. Molded FRP shower stall. Molded FRP head area or optional teak staving on head bulkheads. |
