Baba 40 Standard Features and Equipment

CONSTRUCTION:

Hand laminated one-piece heavy duty fiberglass hull.
Hand laminated fiberglass house & deck with end grain wood sandwich construction.
Molded non-skid surface on deck and house top.
Teak overlay on seats inside of cockpit coaming, secured in thiokal.
Teak cockpit grating.
Exterior teak trim, oil finished or left natural.
One piece internal cast iron ballast, bedded with fiberglass and polyester resin, glassed over to reinforced hull section.
"Colonial Ivory" or "Oyster White" is standard hull & house color, with wale stripe. cove stripe, upper & lower boot top and non-skid colors being subject to customer's choice.

SPARS, RIGGING AND SAILS:

Aluminum spars.
Stainless steel standing rigging.
Running rigging includes halyards, topping lift and outhauls only.
Standard working sails include main, yankee jib, and staysail with covers and bags.
Mizzen sail with cover (Ketch only).
Stainless steel chain plates, headstay and inner forestay tack fittings.
Stainless steel cranse iron, bobstay tang fitting and whisker chain plates.

MACHINERY:

Universal model 50 diesel engine, 4 cylinder, 44HP at 3,000 rpm fresh water cooled, with Hurth reduction gear, installed on rubber mounts with flexible stuffing box.
Water cooled exhaust elbow mounted on engine with "Aqualift" type muffler system.
Extra fuel filter/separator.
Foam/lead insulted engine compartment.
Dual engine controls and engine stop control.
Propeller 18" x 10" x 2 with 1 1/4" stainless steel shaft.

PLUMBING AND TANKAGE:

Two (2) 80 gallon stainless steel water tanks, baffled, with inspection hatch.
One (1) 110 gallon black iron fuel tank, baffled, with inspection hatch.
One (1) manual marine head with holding tank and "Y" valve for discharge directly overboard or into holding tank.
One (1) electric bilge pump.
One (1) manual bilge pump.
One (1) shower sump pump.
Hot and cold pressure water system with accumulator tank.
One (1) 10 gallon hot water heater.
Bronze thru-hull fittings, bronze lever action seacocks with grease fittings.
All thru-hull fittings and tanks are bonded to ship's ground system.

ELECTRICAL

12 and 110 volt electrical systems.
Switch panel with circuit breakers and four meters.
Two (2) 100 amp/hour batteries with four-way selector switch.
One (1) 30 amp/hour shore power inlet.
Seven (7) 110 volt double outlets throughout the boat.
Nine (9) dome lights, seven (7) bulkhead lights, five (5) flourescent lights and one (1) chart table light throughout the boat.
Navigation lights to International Rule.
Bow light, anchor light and deck light.
All seacocks, chain plates, deck filling plates, engine, mast step, rudder fittings, and stern tube are bonded to the ship's ground system.

INTERIOR:

Sleeping accommodations for seven in three separate cabins.
Queen sized berth in forward stateroom.
Enclosed quarter berth cabin with drawers, hanging locker, shelves, and mirrored locker.
Navigation station to starboard with navigator's light.
Galley located to port, "U-shape" configuration with double stainless steel sinks with covers, stainless steel and asbestos lined stove area, large icebox, stainless steel lined bin with cover and numerous drawers and lockers throughout for abundant storage.
Formica galley counters.
Head with Formica counter and bulkhead, separate sit down shower stall with teak grate over FRP shower pan.
Louvered locker doors.
Laminated teak door and locker frames.
Spruce staving against the side of the berth areas and on all exposed hull areas.
All interior bulkheads are covered with teak veneer.
Varnished teak and light wood cabin sole with built in dust bin.
Vinyl covered 4" foam cushions on all settee and berth areas.
Removable Formica overhead.
Wet gear locker.
Teak grate at the foot of the companionway stairs with FRP drip pan under the grate.
Teak saloon table and chart table.
Vinyl liner in lockers.
All interior teak is finished with satin varnish.
